Inner City New Build Units

PaintSmart completed the full interior and exterior painting for a newly constructed dual-unit investment property located on York Place, Dunedin. Each unit features five bedrooms and was developed by BuildSmart, with whom PaintSmart collaborated closely throughout the project to ensure a seamless and high-quality finish.

Inside, a palette of light, modern, and neutral tones was used to complement the contemporary design elements—light wood flooring, white benchtops, and striking black tapware and door hardware. Ceilings were airless-sprayed for a smooth, uniform finish, while walls were carefully rolled to maintain a crisp, clean appearance. This interior scheme creates a fresh and inviting space with a strong contrast that highlights key features, especially in the kitchen.

The white and light tones of the interior extend to the exterior, where the ground floor remains light to maximise natural brightness—particularly under the overhang—bringing light into what would otherwise be a semi-shaded area. In contrast, the upper level features darker cladding that complements the roof and window sashing, offering a bold architectural statement while maintaining balance and cohesion.

The chosen colour scheme is not only modern and visually appealing but also classic and durable—ensuring a timeless look that will stand up well over time.
